109 - The Facts of the Case Were These

During this brief hiatus, we’re pulling out pre-recorded “rainy day” episodes.

While visiting Georgia, Stephen and Tim were able to meet up and record a couple episodes in person. In this episode, we revisit a show that Stephen recommended to Tim back in 2011 - but it took nearly 10 years for him to finally get around to watching it!

108 - Variants

Back after an unexpected summer hiatus, the gang is back - with all of the original cast! We can’t say the same for The Suicide Squad, a reboot(?), revival(?), variant(?), with James Gunn at its helm.

107 - Star-Lord Trooper

Stephen, Jared, and Tim discuss another summer streaming release, The Tomorrow War. How does Chris Pratt handle the lead in an action role? Where does it rank in terms of action silliness/forgettability? What movie are we talking about again?

105 - Ocean's 11 Days Later

Remember all that praise we were heaping on Zach Snyder for his Justice League cut? After suffering the zombie bite that is Army of the Dead, Stephen, Jared, and Tim, turn on him in this episode.

104 - Daddy Issues

Can something so violent give such value to life? The guys continue to explore new film/television releases, and this time with Amazon Prime’s “Invincible”, a brutal and yet heartfelt superhero story.

102 - Buddy Caps

Winter Soldier seeking atonement for his many past sins? Check. Falcon struggling with the responsibility and implications of becoming Captain America? Check. An unconventional buddy show? Check. An examination of superheroes and the weight of systemic racism in the U.S.? Check. A new Captain America determined to measure up at any cost? Check. Scene stealing Dora Milaje? Check. An unknown and mysterious villain that might possibly be an already prominent character? Check. An unknown and mysterious potential villain that comes as a complete surprise? Check. A group of international freedom fighters/terrorists bent on accomplishing… something? Check. A family boat in need of repair? Check. Baron Zemo cutting a rug? Duh!

Stephen, Tim, and Jared dive into the first season of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and examine how well the show was able to juggle all of the ideas and plots in its brief six episode run.

100 - Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

ONE HUNDRED EPISODES. It only took nearly ten years, but we’re here!

To celebrate, Tim and Stephen invited Michial Farmer and Josh Altmanshofer from the fantastic podcast Before They Were Live, to talk about a film that still impresses both from a visual and story perspective after over thirty years - Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

98 - It Was Grief All Along

Don’t change that channel! Stephen, Jared, and Tim heat up some TV dinners, relax back in their recliners, and tune in to the meta/fourth wall breaking Marvel series Wandavision.

97 - A Cut Above

Stephen, Tim and Jared are as surprised as you are. They expected the audacious 4-hour epic Zach Snyder’s Justice League to be everything that had come to define Snyder: moody, ambitious, overwhelming, gratuitous. But GOOD?

96 - Diana, Princess of Wonder

In the sinking plane crash of the DC films, Stephen, Tim, and Jared are rescued by an unexpected but welcome hero - Wonder Woman! Listen as we briefly come up for air to discuss a refreshing superhero film that not only met but exceeded expectations, and reminded us about what we loved about superheroes to begin with.

95 - How I Met Your Martha

Stephen, Tim, and Jared take one for the team and revisit the disaster that is Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice. While it’s hard to make a comprehensive list of all that went wrong with the film, it’s clear that no matter who wins the fight, the audience loses either way.

94 - Regular Guy of Steel

Stephen, Tim, and Jared decide to tackle the mixed-bag that is the DC Extended Universe! Man of Steel may shoot for the stars, but does it make the landing?
